On Sunday, November 17th, we’ll find out which WNBA team — the Los Angeles Sparks, Dallas Wings, Chicago Sky, or the Washington Mystics — will get the No. 1 pick, and a chance to draft at University of Connecticut standout guard Paige Bueckers.
How to Watch the WNBA Draft Lottery
The WNBA Draft Lottery, scheduled for 5pm ET, will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN for 30 minutes, live from the media company’s Bristol studios. The show will be hosted by ESPN anchor Andraya Carter, while analyst Carolyn Peck will participating. WNBA Head of League Operations Bethany Donaphin will reveal the results of the Lottery.
Per ESPN, the WNBA Draft Lottery special will “explain the lottery process, preview the top prospects, and provide in-depth discussion and analysis.”
Which WNBA teams are in the lottery?
The lottery teams — in order of odds for the No. 1 pick — are the Los Angeles Sparks, Dallas Wings, Chicago Sky, and Washington Mystics. That order is based on each team’s cumulative record for the past two seasons; the Sparks, Wings, Sky, and Mystics have the four worst cumulative records, and will therefore
The Sparks have a 22-55 combined record, and the best odds at the No. 1 pick (44.2%). The Wings and Sky each have a 31-49 record, and a 22.7% chance at No. 1, while the Mystics have a 33-47 record, and a 10.4% chance. The Wings also have a pick swap with the Sky, so they could snag the No. 1 pick if the Mystics get it.
Each WNBA team will be represented by one of their star young player — Angel Reese will represent the Sky, Maddy Siegrist will participate on behalf of the the Wings, Rickea Jackson the Sparks, and Aaliyah Edwards the Mystics.
Which college stars could be drafted?
University of Connecticut guard Paige Bueckers headlines the 2025 draft class. The 6’0 point guard — known for her all-around efficient play — averaged 21.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4 assists last season.
Bueckers, the first freshman to ever be named National Player of the Year, has enjoyed a scorching hot start to the season so far.
Kiki Iriafen, a standout forward at Stanford last year who transferred to the University of Southern California last summer, is another likely lottery pick. Iriafen is an athletic and high-scoring forward who averaged 19.4 points and 11 rebounds at Stanford last season.
Aneesa Morrow of LSU, Azzi Fudd of the University of Connecticut, Notre Dame point guard Olivia Miles, and UCLA Center Lauren Betts are all also potential lottery picks, as is French center Dominique Malonga and UCLA forward Janiah Barker.
