Beiersdorf Releases 2024 Annual Report

Beiersdorf released its 2024 annual report, with a rising demand in all regions.

Organic sales increased by 6.5% year on year, reaching record total sales of €9,850 million. Despite significant investments, operating result (EBIT), excluding special factors, increased from €1,268 million in 2023 to €1,370 million in 2024, resulting in an improved EBIT margin of 13.9%

Beiersdorf saw the most sales in Europe (43.8%), followed by Africa/Asia/Australia (30.1%), and the Americas (26.1%).

The main sales driver was the Consumer Business Segment. The strong performance of the Nivea business (9.0% organic sales growth), as well as Derma brands, Eucerin and Aquaphor (10.6% organic sales growth), had a large impact.

Beiersdorf CEO, Vincent Warnery, said,

“We have put our company on track for a successful future: In the reporting year, we updated our strategy. With “Win with Care” we are raising the bar for our performance and growth. It also clearly articulates our vision to be the best skin care company in the world. The past year gives me cause for optimism that we will achieve our bold aspiration.”

Win with Care

The company’s updated “Win with care” strategy focuses on three areas:

  • To be the undisputed authority in skin care.

  • To be omnipresent for our consumers.

  • To combine performance with purpose.

The “Win with Care” strategy helps the company strengthen its presence in all strategic markets, categories, and segments. Eucerin launched in India during the past financial year, acting as a good example of tapping into new growth areas in the skincare market and further boosting the face care category in particular.

Beiersdorf is strengthening its distribution channels, especially in e-commerce, to increase reach and connect even better with consumers. This lays the foundation for further growth.

In the hopes of achieving profitable growth and increasing the value of the company, Beiersdorf will focus on new initiatives guided by the “Fewer, bigger, better” principle.

Economic Goals

We have set ourselves the target to achieve Net Zero by 2045.

This means reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 90% (in absolute terms) and along the entire value chain (vs. 2018). This target has been validated and approved by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and is in line with the Paris Agreement.

Beiersdorf has managed to achieve an absolute reduction of 25% in greenhouse gas emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 by the end of 2024. To do this, the company has revamped its product portfolio.

Beiersdorf converted the blue Nivea cream tin to 80% recycled aluminum and re-invented the Nivea Body Lotion assortment with improved formulas and lightweight packaging.
