Game status: Drake London is ACTIVE for Week 10 vs. the Saints
Game day update: Drake London is expected to play on Sunday, per Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter. He’s a solid start against a shaky Saints squad.
The Atlanta Falcons are in position to take control of the NFC South at the midway point of the 2024 season. Sitting at 6-3, the Falcons will play their biggest division rival on the road in Week 10 as they play the New Orleans Saints. A win would make the Falcons 5-0 in NFC South games and almost guarantee them their first NFC South title since 2016. However, the Falcons will hope to have their top wide receiver available for Sunday as Drake London manages a hip injury.
Drake London Injury Status
According to Falcons senior writer Tory McElhaney, wide receiver Drake London will be listed as questionable heading into Sunday’s game against the Saints. London left last week’s game with a hip-pointer and has been limited in practice all week.
While London was a limited participant in practice this week, head coach Raheem Morris noted that he “felt good” about London playing on Sunday after practice on Friday. Morris considered London day-to-day, but his message on Friday lined up with the message earlier in the week when he said, “I’m feeling really good about it.”
Still, London will be a player to monitor on Sunday morning as the inactives list gets released. The Falcons play the Saints in the earlier slate of games at 1 p.m. ET.
What Drake London injury means for fantasy football
At the halfway point of the season, Drake London has been one of the better fantasy football wide receivers in 2024. London has already tripled his touchdown output last season with the help of quarterback Kirk Cousins and is on pace for career-highs in both receptions and yards.
London has been the WR5 in PPR formats and has just two games with under 10-points. The third-year wide receiver has been the most important player in the offense and with better quarterback play has been able to play up to his talent.
If everything goes as expected and London does play, expect him to be a full go with no limitations. The Saints are allowing 19.7 fantasy points to wide receivers this season and have fired their defensive head coach and traded their top cornerback. That all plays in London’s benefit. When these two teams played earlier this season, London had six receptions for 64 yards.
In the case that London can’t go, expect Darnell Mooney to get more looks his way. Mooney has been a solid second wide receiver for the Falcons this season as he has 41 receptions for 588 yards and five touchdowns. Mooney has very quietly been the WR12 this season and has back-to-back games with 18 or more fantasy points. If London is out, Mooney should be expected to have high-end WR2 or low-end WR1 upside.
However, the Falcons could also lean heavily on the run game against the Saints. The Saints have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs this season. Bijan Robinson only had seven carries for 28 yards back in Week 4, but has been the RB3 since Week 6.
