Cyrus is coming off a public split with musician Firerose after the two divorced in August 2024, ending their seven-month marriage. He was also married to ex-wife Tish for 28 years, and the two share kids Brandi, 37, Trace, 36, Miley, 32, Braison, 30, and 25-year-old Noah. (He is dad to Christopher Cody, 33, with ex-girlfriend Kristen Luckey, as well.)

As for Hurley, she and first husband Arun Nayar divorced in 2011 after four years of marriage. Three months after her divorce, she was engaged to Australian cricketer Shane Warne before the two separated in 2013. Warne died of a heart attack in 2022 at age 54, two years after Bing died by suicide at age 55.

“Billy Ray and Liz have both been through a lot in life and have bonded over life experiences,” the Cyrus source added. “Liz is a very compassionate person, which Billy Ray adores.”

In terms of what comes next for the two, they’re keeping their options open. Elizabeth admitted in a 2020 interview with Tatler that she’s not sure if she will get married again.

“I don’t know if marriage comes into that, to be honest, because I’m not going to have more children, and I don’t need anyone to pay my bills or give me a roof over my head,” she said. “But I would like someone for companionship, fun.”
