Oh boy, Stephen A. Smith addressed the idea of running for President in 2028

Votes are still being counted in the aftermath of Tuesday’s General Election in the United States of America. However, one race that is not in doubt is the race for President. Former President Donald J. Trump was returned to office on Tuesday, putting him in a position to become just the second President in U.S. history along with Grover Cleveland to serve non-consecutive terms.

However, when he takes the Oath of Office in January, Trump will enter office as a lame duck, as the language of the 22nd Amendment bars Presidents from serving more than two terms, whether consecutive or non-consecutive. That means that talk has already turned to who might run for that office in 2028.

One individual who might have already thrown their hat into the ring? ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith.

Speaking on The View Thursday, Smith addressed speculation about a potential pursuit of higher office, stating “[i]f you came to me and you told me I had a legitimate shot to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would definitely consider it.”

I mean, as long as we’re throwing ideas out there I would not mind being the next President of the FIA. If you came to me and told me I had a legitimate shot at getting that job I would definitely consider it.
