No Good Deed’s first season was full of plot twists, but are there plans for more episodes?

When asked whether she had plans to expand the universe following the shocking season finale, creator Liz Feldman told TVLine on Saturday, December 14, “I have some pretty fun plans for a season 2. It’s pretty early, though. I still need to get in there and chat it all up with Netflix, but I have a really fun idea of where to take it.”

Feldman wouldn’t give away whether No Good Deed would return with the same characters — or if it would turn into an anthology show with new settings each season.

“It will continue to subvert expectations and take you to where you least expect to go,” she added.

In the series premiere, viewers learn that Paul (Romano) and Lydia’s (Kudrow) son was killed three years earlier, but they waited to put the home on the market until they no longer had to disclose the date of the incident. Details were presented little by little about who shot Jacob (Wyatt Aubrey) — even briefly pinning the blame on his sister — until the true circumstances of the murder were revealed in the finale.

“There’s a main story twist. I think it works and it’s a good payoff. But I think the whole show doesn’t rely on that one twist,” Romano, 66, exclusively told Us Weekly before the show premiered, with Kudrow, 61, adding, “For me, the goal is always that it’s entertaining and that it’s something you look forward to seeing and to keep watching.”

The final episode revealed that Paul and Lydia’s neighbor Margo (Linda Cardellini) shot Jacob, who she was having an affair with. Nearly every story line was wrapped up in a neat way, but it wouldn’t be the first time a show started with a specific premise before expanding out into an anthology.

Disney surprised fans when they released Goosebumps in October 2023 as a show about five teenagers who had to work together after accidentally releasing supernatural forces into their small town. However, when the series was renewed four months later, Disney confirmed there would be shakeups to both the cast and story.

Season 2 will now feature new stars, a new setting and a new mystery for the characters to solve. The writing team — which is led by showrunner Hilary Winston — is expected to return to continue to bring author R.L Stine’s vision to life.

Meanwhile over at Freeform, Cruel Summer quickly caught viewers’ attention when it debuted in 2021. Two years later, the show returned with a new focus before ultimately being canceled.

No Good Deed is currently streaming on Netflix.
